Yeah I bet that snake was either released or confiscated a long time ago.

Actually Mike she is in the possession of a breeder and he hopes to make some hets this spring.

Pretty sure that's against the law Jeff...
Did you ever hear about the Leucistic western hognose snakes getting confiscated?
The original was found in a state where it's illegal to sell native snakes, all offspring that were produced from that line were tracked down and taken away.
The same will happen with that piebald garter if he's talking about the one that was posted on another forum...

To my knowledge there wasn't anything illegal about that snake or where is way captured. It was captured in a state that doesn't offer any protection from what I read. Of course there were a lot of rumers ect flying around as usual.

the snake was legally acquired by a breeder. the snake is doing good and should possibly have hets this summer.

That's great to hear! Can't wait to see some pics
the problem started when it was caught in one state and pics were posted from a guy in an adjoining state....
garter was in legal state ...guy in wrong state....the person who caught the garter wasn't the one with the posts....
...anyways....good luck...cool snake it was....hopefully it drops alot .......!!!

Coming from someone who FEEDS shorthead garters to other snakes, the hypocrisy of your "concern" amuses me Mike.
