Anaconda pee!

Kraid_ZM Apr 08, 2011 10:04 PM

A few months ago I bought a young male yellow, he's doing great, never refuses a meal and is actually pretty well behaved as far as biting goes. He's never bit me or even struck at me, however, he gets agitated easily when I hold him. He'll start to squirm around, and then pee all over the place. Anyone else had this happen? Is this just something they do when they're juveniles, or should I expect an 8 foot snake to pee all over the place when I pick it up? lol.

Hi

I know that feeling.
Whether it is a lifelong habit I am not sure, but know for a fact that they do use it as some sort of "defense system" like a skunk.
Mine is about 3 years old and does it now and then, but found that in the younger stage mine did it quite often, especially when I took him out to sanitize the cage.

At least your one is bit calm.Think mine is a anaconda x devil -hybrid...

I had 2 retics that used to do that. I would move them to the garage before taking them out to avoid getting urine and feces on the carpet. It was annoying as hell. I had them for 5 years and it got worse with time. But once out after defecating and biting me once or twice they were manageable for a while, until the next time.
