Chicks from a feed store.???

If I buy straight run chicks I can get them pretty cheap.Do I need to keep them for a few days and feed them unmedicated food? I dont know what they are fed at the store, and I dont want to make my snakes sick.

Try to find out what they are fed before the feed store gets them .

Around here they are shipped already fed on medicated starter feed which fights bird flu and coccidiosis.
