a few gravid knobs.

this first one is so light orange she almost looks hypo-e but she's not.To bad she is in the blue here cause she is a knockout. This is her pre-lay shed but she isn't as fat as I would like so I hope the eggs aren't slugs.

this is one of my Buzz Ross line animals.I produced her and her parents. She is a f4 so I can't wait to see the f5's in a couple months.

this is my f1 San Juanito that throws out the candycanes. She looks like she is just packed.

and this is my (08) candycane bred back to her father and to her brother. If I get just a couple candycanes in the clutch I will probably never know if they are from the dad or the brother but if I get all normals I will know her brother hit her and he isn't het.

I have one other knob to go.Its my oldest and she is a f2 produced by Dave Long in 95.

Hope you enjoyed.

They are all beautiful! I find it very useful to see the gravid mountain kings. My two 08 female pyros are gravid. This is the first time I have ever bread snakes, so pictures of what they are supposed to look like are valuable.
That last one looks like she is going to pop any minute!

I may be able to breed that 1.1 I got from you from the candy cane line next year......They seem to grow long and thin prior to fattening up.....

>>Wow, she sure is almost like a pumpkin orange. The pair I got from him, is really orange and bigger than any of my others too...Female last year had a whopping clutch of 12, biggest I have seen? Gravid again this year but looks to be a smaller clutch.

It seems when melanin is reduced it affects the erythrin or erythrocytes as well.......The Applegate Special Pyro isn't toatlly red it is more orange than red.....Just as amel tricolors are more orange than red MOST of the time......

Even some of my reduced black thayeri have orangish saddles instead of the normal red.......

Yeah Jimmy, that bottom one could be considered a candycane (maybe only a 5 or 6 on the candycane scale)if it was from my candycane line.I am not sure if it was from Shermans candycane line? I know he only ever produced one and steve bought it and its parents etc....I ended up buying that really orange girl as you know.
Anyway, just saying if that one on the bottom you posted is from a nown candycane line then I would say its a candycane.

Here is the (09) female candycane I produced and as you can see she isn't as clean as the (08) was but none the less she is a candycane all day long.Jimmy is the proud new owner of her and her sibling bro btw.

>>That one I posted is from Shermans line. I bought the adults that produced the male that fathered the candy cane he produced.(you posted the sister to that male) So it is a brother to the father of the pair Steve has. I actually have three that are that much reduced black....Now the question becomes, is your candy cane compatible with Shermans/Steve O.'s? Time Will tell! I will be working on this project for many of years....Hopefully I can prove out my clown faces, and the aberrants. BTW the aberrant female had her PLS yesterday, looks to have only 3 or 4 eggs though....I bred that aberrant male back to the original line female, I am pretty stoked to see if I can get some total aberrants or maybe even a striper! Now, all I have to do is work on the orange and burgandy lines and I will hit for the cycle.

Cool sounding projects guys.......
I am down for some striped and aberrants and candy canes....
I think this pair I have from Shannon will produce some candy canes next year.....The male is pinned out an looking good.....Right now they are long skinny snakes.....I sure hope they fatten up some.......

Here's the 2009 Male

And the 2009 Female....
