feeding gravid alterna

slimlv Apr 14, 2011 10:26 PM

I am lucky enough to have two gravid females. They still are very aggresive eaters and I am wondering if I should offer smaller meals. They both should lay mid May and they take down two rat pups a week. I have read that I should reduce the meal size and I also read that a gravid snake wont take a meal that is too large for them while gravid. Any thoughts? Thanks, Scott.

Id advise against feeding gravid snakes. That is, unless they need some weight. In my experience feeding gravid snakes thet are in proper condition leads to egg binding, or over-size clutches.
