Retic defecation.

AK_Angelini Apr 17, 2011 02:48 PM

Hello I'm new to retics. I was wondering if retics have a habit of defecating frequently when held?
Awhile back I bought a dwarf retic baby that defecated very frequently when held.
I was wondering if all retics are like this? Or is it just with babys? or Just with dwarfs?
thanks for any replies

It varies retic to retic. Some never do, some usually do...some will grow out some won't. Sorry that there isn't a real answer.

Is it a defensive poop (i.e. aimed at you, smeared on by a thrashing tail, and ground into the fabric of your clothes by a pissed retic) or is just a dump? Sometimes I find that simply letting them explore a bit stimulates their bowels (which I use to my advantage when I can; I'd rather have them crap in the yard).

Thanks for the reply. It didn;t seem to be a defensive thing. It seemed to be from being out and active. I have since sold her for that reason. I liked her a lot but could never hold her without her taking a dump. I would really like to get another one but figured I would ask about this first.
thanks again.
