Jungle Carpet Python

dboyd1523 Apr 19, 2011 09:19 AM

I just acquired a Jungle Carpet adult male about 6 feet in length , now this is my 1st jungle but i have been raising BCI's , BCC's and ball pythons for over 10 years . Basically I've looked at over 20 different caresheets and cant find the answer to what I'm looking for which is how often should this guy be fed and how much ? I got him on Saturday and he took a small rat within 2 hours of bringing him home then another small rat the night after . I have my balls and boas on a 2-3 week feeding schedule and would like a little suggestion on which would be best for the carpet .

I generally provide carpets one rodent every 7-14 days depending on the age and size of the snake, and this is roughly the same diameter as the thickest point of the snake. That is often the general rule of thumb to follow in most cases.
