shedding issue

po Apr 30, 2011 10:15 AM

hey!
I have had reptiles for years and not much stumps me... till now!
we have a crested we took in, he had some shedding issues(several retained layers), and I gently peeled him, but there is some stuck on his laminae, and I can't figure out how to get that off any ideas?

re posted on health and general gecko forums as well...

Not sure where the laminae is on a crested gecko...but for any stuck shed, best way to remove it is to either increase humidity in the cage, provide a moist hide or soak in shallow water (especially useful if its on the feet/toes) Then carefully peal it off. If the buildup isn't too heavy in that area, it may come off with the next shed.
