Wow! Thank you so much Eve! It looks like your hovabator is much deeper than mine and I should probably upgrade so I can at least use my SIM or even small closed tuper-wares. I don't have time to post a pic currently to show my unit but I think the fan being so close to the eggs might have been an issue. Although never a problem with my gecko eggs... I've got a fimbriatus coming at lunch time and completing its plumbing but will follow-up here in a few days with my incubator solution and see what you think.
Thanks again!!
Tony
I never used them because the fan tends to dry the collared eggs out which is NOT good . The regular hovabator is fine, holds alot if you don't have a zillion lizards laying , lol. They are well worth it for a fairly good price, for most small hobbyists, without getting large expensive models.
Best wishes with your uroplatus fimbraitus, I had uroplatus henkeli for almost 10 years, just lost me last one this spring :0(

Hi Eve, say didn't you upgrade your incubator??
No, I have the same incubator/s since I started over a dozen years ago :0) I did however get a SIMS incubation container maybe thats what your thinking? It's the container in the firt post pic top right of incubator.
Is that what you were talking about , lol ??

I believe that's what I'm confused about so you're using the Hovabator model then??
YEP, just the regular model , no fans.
So has Elvis done the deed? His brother Kabu has not stopped. Relentless , a sex maniac like daddy, lol.

Lol oh yeah repeatedly more with 'Scilla though.
Hi Eve!
Got my new frimbriatus finally setup. Sure hope he adjusts as well as the female did... Anyway, you mentioned before that you had a henkel for 10 years. That must be a record! I'm still learning...
OK on hovabator, it turns out that I have the old square style and the height won't accomodate my SIM. I think with the lower height of that heating element and the fan, I just turned those little eggs into raisens last season. I reasearced this to death and everyone is saying to build your own which I think I will but I needed something soon and I live in TX where we have some really hot days. So, in the end I ordered an exo terra fridge. Its small and pricy but I got several recs from folks with SIMs and my girl will drop eggs really soon. I wanted the hovabator but at the end of all the discussion, folks rated the exo as a better pick for me. I sure hope it doesn't reset with power loss and freez the eggs.
I'll keep ya updated on setup when I get her going. Thanks so much for the advice!
Tony
