Size difference in male/female

Jonasgn May 04, 2011 02:02 PM

Hi all
I´m new to crested geckos. I have found a lot of great websites with usefull info, but they never mention if it´s the male or female that gets bigger. I hope you guys can answer that.

And what would the length and weight be for a big male and female.

Thanks a lot

Jonas

I don't think there is much of a size difference between male and female crested geckos. Males may have a bit of a bigger head but from what I remember (and I don't have my reference material handy unfortunately) weight/length isn't too much different between the sexes.

Big crested geckos would be any that are 50g or more..and are over 8" tailed. Average would be 5-8" (most likely 5" tailless as the tail is a little less than the length of the body from nose to vent)
