Went out this morning around 8ish, was around 61F and clear, found a few things, and maybe something really cool, maybe you can tell me....
a very mellow(thankfully)black racer....

Now check this out, am not really familiar with eastern boxes all that much, but what is the deal with the coloration on this, looks almost what I would call a "blonde", can't really tell from the pic, but she has orangish stripe around her face and top of her head, and she is actually way more lighter on her shell. What morph would this be???

Here are a couple of the habitat shots, ran out of critter photos..

I've never seen a box turtle like that in the wild, but I saw one in captivity that was plain colored, but whiter. All the adult boxies here have a pattern. The young seem to be blander. Here's a well patterned (with an identifying #3 like marking) box turtle from McCormick County,SC.

most of the adults we find here are somewhat "weathered", but most are very pretty. That one is actually way whiter, my camera just takes bad photos. I have asked a bunch of friends that live here if they have ever seen a box like that, and all of them said they haven't. Really strange.
