Fun part about Pseustes

SoLA May 23, 2011 12:42 AM

I don't normally disturb these snakes after they eat, but I decided tonight I wanted to try and get some shots of the way their body looks after eating eggs. My battery died so I could not upload more than one shot tonight, so I will try and get more later, but the cool thing about eggs is you can clearly see three individual lumps like when snakes eat things in cartoons. This meal was a 60g grade A large cage free egg, a 54g Grade A large cage free egg, and a 49g Grade A medium naturally farm fresh egg. Some of the shots you can see better and you can even tell what order she ate them. Thanks for looking.

Great post, that's EGGxtremely interesting.

Nice color on the Pseustes! Do you have any full body pics?

Thanks for sharing,
Ed

This is an older shot but she did have her adult coloration. It was taken with a point and shoot camera so the colors don't show up quite as nice as the first pic I posted.

Thanks

Beautiful snake! If she had a few darks scales peppering her body it would look like my Jamaican boa, which looks like Indian corn.

Thanks,
Ed

This was a picture taken the same night as the original one I posted

I think it is fairly clear in this picture : ) Although I think it looks cooler when they are slightly spaced out more and looks really neat when they are going down her body.
