Look what I found...

... in my backyard.

Ok, I didn't really find him there, I put him on the birdhouse for the photo shoot. There were actually bluebirds in the birdhouse, but they flew the coop a few weeks ago. I'm sure he would have wiped them out in a matter of minutes if they were still there.

Haha, I think had you found that snake like that we would be seeing the story on the news about someone who had their eyes and jaw fall directly on their back doorstep. But the photos were still a lot of fun. Great looking individual you have.

Thanks. Hopefully I won't be on the news. These days all it takes is one ignorant and busybody neighbor..

I have fun taking this guy out in the yard, he seems to really enjoy exploring and taking in all the sights and scents. One time I let him explore my little fish pond, and he dove down into the water for about 10 seconds. He came up with a sponge in his mouth! (I guess I had left a sponge in there after I scrubbed the algae off the side of the liner.) It may have been the funniest thing I've ever seen. And he did not want to let go of the it! It must have been a sight to see, me trying to pull a sponge out of his mouth. Of course, he dropped it as I was getting the camera out.

My bros father inlaw was mowing his five acre yard when he noticed an eastern poking it's head up under the barbed wire fence, the next time around on the mower it was climbing up a little oak he planted just a year or so ago, the next time around the it had a previously un-noticed yellow ratsnake in its grasp and was eating so fast that by the fourth trip around the yard both were gone.JB
