This zoo is awesome and I was able to get some sweet behind the scene shots. Everyone one that works there is really nice and it is very well kept. The enclousers were fantastic.

Nice. What type of camera do you use? Blue seems to be a difficult color to catch, but your camera seems to catch blue color.

GerardS May 27, 2011 05:12 PM

I use a Nikon P80. Those were more blue than any of the hybrids I have seen and I have seen a whole bunch of them. Not one comes close to the real thing.

Yeah it sure seems like it.

Mark, blue really is a hard color to catch, but one thing that seems to help is using a flash even in bright sunlight. It's not foolproof, but I do seem to catch more blue that way.

I use a nikon D5000 camera. I think it runs around 600 or so. I got it in a package deal with two other lenses, therefore I paid more. It's a great camera!

Mark M May 31, 2011 06:17 PM

For sure, those are some real nice and clear pics.

melanosuchus! Cool. I had one 25 years ago. It was in with a bunch of spectacles or browns in a pet store of all places. I thought it was an american alligator at first. Paid $20 for it.

bivittatus May 30, 2011 12:35 PM

Cool I wish it was still that easy to get them!!!

Very very cool, I was in Grand Cayman a few weeks ago and got to see some in the wild, beautiful creatures!

jf Jun 01, 2011 12:11 PM

nice pics. 1st time there? you can look at all the pics people take but that blue on the wild ones in that setting, has to be seen with your own eyes. the camera only comes close

It was my 2nd time on the island but the first chance I've had to really explore and check out the wildlife. I agree, pictures at best only come close to the true majesty of these iguanas, really have to see them in person. The blue-throated anoles were one of my favorites to photograph as well, some of these little lizards were quite breathtaking.

the name please.

matthew1982 Jun 01, 2011 06:57 PM

It's actually called Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens... I think this is the one they're referring to.
