I ordered a pair of red tail green rats last week off the classifieds. They were set to go oyt monday for tuesday. They did not. Instead they went out tues. for wed. I recieved an email with the tracking number. The vendor decided to save money and send them through the U.S. mail. I was not happy when I found this out. I dont believe it is allowed to send snakes via US mail. Thank God they were harmless. Not that we have enough bad press with reptiles as it is. Any way to make it worse the vendor sent them 2 day shipping> I was @#$í off by this. It is total disreguard for the animals as well as the hobby. Any way they came today and were fine. When I opened the bag with the female, she was wrapped around 7 beautiful eggs she laid in the bag. I put them in the incubator right away. My questions are how many days about is hatch time? And can the babies be variable if both parents were green?

Wow, you got a bit of a deal there if the eggs hatch.
Gererally you can count on 60 days to hatch give or take a couple of days.
I had ordered a B-Beauty which came from five states away overnight. He was almost 9' but was crammed in a small box marked syringes! Nothing saying fragle, live animal, perishable, etc...I was mortified. You're kidding right and thankfull to see it alive and well dispite there being no air holes!
He was justfully pissed off when he came out of the box.
One more thing, don't ever count on the carrier to ring the bell even if you paid for that ring and sign service.I lost a good snake because my wife waited for the doorbell to ring and never saw the package get droped at the door, It sat in the sun for four hours before I woke up (work nights). When told it hadn't come yet I checked and found it up against the house.
Bastard was supposed to get a signiture. So if you are expecting a dilivery sit and wait for it! That will save you some grief.
Mike.

No offense to the previous author but incubation is more like 100 days and plan on manually pipping them as more than likely they will die full term in the egg if you don't.

W/my babies I set them up in shoebox sized rubbermaid tubs and had lots of fake greenery. Thawed and split brained pinks were taken more readily if left up in the branches/leaves....some would ignore all offerings left on the floor of the tub for quite awhile.

Get those adults treated and have plenty of Baytril or Amicasin around for the almost guaranteed UR issues they're bound to have. Worm them after they've fed 4-5 times or at about 45-60 days...repeat in another 45 days from there and once more 6 mos. later. Mine then get an annual booster. WC adult Gonyosoma are notorious for initially doing quite well then crashing hard and fast for no outwardly apparent reason. Give them arboreal and terrestrial hides, plenty of greenery, and leave them totally alone exceptmfor feeding/cleaning.

There's so much wrong w/that situation, I don't know where to start!

VegasBilly is right, about 100 days for incubation. The eggs from WC gravid females generally don't require manual pipping but I'd do it anway around day 100. I've pipped as late as 107 days and got lucky.

As far as baby coloration, it depends on the locality of the adults. If they're Indonesian two greens can indeed breed and produce a mixture of babies. Likewise, two grays can breed and produce a mixture. I've had both scenarios happen.

I've also had clutches that were 100% gray or green produced by gray x green pairings.

If they're Malaysian then they will only produce green babies as that is the only coloration in that locale. At least as far as I've been told.

Please post back around 100 days incubation and let us know how things went.
