sand boa value

steinfortjason Jun 02, 2011 06:44 PM

i am trying to get a reasonable price on a few snakes. i am looking at a 125 gr female albino, 2 normal 250 gram females, and one 220 grma axanthic female. the last 3 snakes are proven breeders and around 7 years old. the albino is about 3 years old and hasnt been breed. what would be a decent price to pay for these? please help thanks. would like to knw what you sand boa people think they are worth before i buy them locally.

It is hard to say with out seeing the albino female. If she is a nice high orange female close to breeding you could spend around 3 or 4 hundred for her alone. It all depends on what you plan to do with them.
If the others are normal and axanthic, and not het for anything else then they are, IMO, only worth around 50 bucks each for me. I would not be suprised to see others say more though. Even with a normal, if she produces 15 babies and you wholesale them for 10 bucks the first year then she is worth at least 100.
By some reasoning, a female is worth what she can produce the first year, but you have to judge how easy you can sell the babies and what price you will get for them the next year.

THANKS FOR the info. The albino is nice with some bright orange markings maybe a little above average. she is a little nippy though. they are asking $75 for normals and $100 for axanthic and $150 for albino.
