Most social turtle for a pet?

LightElf Jun 08, 2011 01:33 AM

I saw this vid on youtube, you know the turtle playing with the cat and it made me consider a turtle as a pet. Are there any species known to be social/fearless etc. And are there any that can be allowed to roam about the room rather than living in a cage?

If you are looking for a cat toy try a toy store. Turtles live in water, tortoises live on land. Most would do poorly roaming around in a room unless set up with a substrate and water supply, heat and basking lights with lots of places to hide. Both do better outside, weather permitting and the idea is to make them feel safe, the vidio moments come after a long term of trust is established. "Theres more to the picture than meats the eye" There are several species of tortoises that can become quite personable. See if you can find one that needs weather condishions like where you live Vic.....pic Asian Black Mt.Tortoises
