Can somebody please post the particulars of the new law for us out of staters? Is spotighting and hunting shoulders/right of way from a vehicle permitted? Will it be legal to hunt this summer? Where can the stamps be purchased? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Man.. details are sketchy at best. Here's what we know.

Still sitting in governors office now. If he doesn't sign it (which is fine) it will go into law around the 20th of June. It also goes into effect immediately. The challenge is that the new law requires stamps in which we dont have yet and probably will not have until next year.

More facts..

1. Can't road cruise
2. Can't shine lights from car to hunt (spotlights, flashlights, etc... The term they use is artificial light).
3. Can walk on shoulder.
4. Can walk cuts.
5. Have to wear reflective vest.
6. Have no idea if we can walk if we purchase hunting license until stamps are ready???
7. Hasn't been to bad out for most hunters this year anyway except for traffic tickets.

Cheers,

StevenX

The law requires TPW to have the stamps ready by March of 2012. It's so far not known what (if any) provisions will be made for us in the meantime. I don't know of any tickets-other than traffic-that have been given out so far this season under the previous road ban law.

Also, I'm not saying you will NOT get in trouble, but i have completely ignored all these new laws and have had absolutely no trouble at all. The only area where this is even an issue is in alterna country... Most LE elsewhere do not even know about these new laws/regulations.

me 2 cents...
