GTP's..???

I am thinking about getting one but dont understand the different locales.Biak compared to a Aru etc..
Also is one prettier then another or bigger etc..
I notice a huge price difference from one seller of biaks to another. One asks for 250 another asks for 350 but I dont see a difference in the yellow ones.Am I missing something?
Ive only got like 250 for now and can add more next month but may end up getting something else, I dont want to waste money if I cant afford a nice one.

Do the spots make them uglier as adults, so less spots are better?
Sorry Ive never looked into these before and just thought Id love one for display.

Your best bet is to pick up a copy of "The More Complete Chondro" by Greg Maxwell. This book will cover most of your questions from differences in locality and captive husbandry. Tons of other info and full of great pictures as well.

Purchase from a green tree python BREEDER. I would strongly suggest avoiding a farm bred baby from a jobber.

Do it right, and you will fall in love with this species. Do it wrong and you will become frustrated with them.

I think people put too much stress on GTPs. They do just as well in racks as they do on display. Actually I think display cages cause a lot of the stress issues, but I am no where near an expert. But here is a link to some basic specs from Terry Phillip.

They are basic. Keep em between 78-82. Give em a hide and and a humid hide. Give em something to crawl on and they are good.

Buy from a known breeder and a respected breeder. Dont just get from any one. if you decide this is the species for you def research the breeders... I think that is the most important thing.
