I've had my Texas Glossy snake for almost ten years and I don't want to have to let him go but he only eats lizards and my supplier is going out of business. Where else can I get frozen desert lizards? Anyone know?

your best bet is to look on the kingsnake.com classifieds for feeder anole lizards. I'm sure if you could get it to eat frozen thawed lizards you could get it to accept pinky mice...
leave the prey item in the same spot every time you feed the snake, after a couple lizard meals try a pinky mouse rubbed on a lizard, maybe rip off the lizard's tail and put it in the pinky's mouse. smear some lizard blood on the pinky... should work.
I had a young glossy snake a while back that ate pinkies whenever I offered them.

I knew that someone would suggest the pinky thing. When I got Wally when he was a baby he ate pinkies, then as soon as he was big enough to eat a fuzzy I gave him one. He freaked out and never touched another mouse no matter how I presented it to him. I even offered him one with a beer. He refused everything, including all of the things you suggested. When I saw him getting thin I decided that instead of watching him starve trying to get him to bend to my wishes, I fed him lizards. He's even pretty picky about the kind of lizards he wants so I'm not sure about paying $4.50 for an anole plus the high shipping to test it out. I did find one place on here that sold them, and they were too much. But thanks for the suggestion.
I used to supply my lizard supplier with mice and even though he no longer has his store he went out and got some lizards for me. So I can stop fretting for now.
I dont know if this is an option for you but if you live in area where there are Indo-Pacific geckos but if you do then you may want to try those. Baby Greybands and other types of Lampropeltis I have had in the past that would refuse anoles, would not refuse these types of Geckos. If you live in any of the southeastern or southwestern you should be able to find them at night on walls under lights on houses or other buildings. Good luck
Thank's for the suggestion. I live in NM by El Paso TX. I don't think I've ever seen one of those. It would be easier for me to take a bucket out in the desert and bury it and catch some local specimens, which I may have to end up doing. I used to catch the ones by my house this way, but I guess I got them all cuz I haven't gotten any lately.
Try looking around buildings at night. They usually stay near the lights on the outside of the buildings. You can also find them on some houses near lights. I have seen them in the Big Bend area of Texas so i would assume they would be where you live too. Ask some of your local herp people or look online to see if they have been found there.
