Has anyone else discovered the new black crickets that are starting to pop up? I've seen very little info on them so have no idea about specifics. I've seen them referred to as super crickets and georgia blacks.

In short, I set up a group of 1000 breeders 6 weeks ago and have had incredible success with hatching and raising the young and the adults have had amazing vitality compared to the grays, very few dead adults in the bin. Overall I have not had the problems I had recently with the grays.

Just wondering if anyone else has discovered these and been playing with them. I have a feeling these will be replacing the grays.

well i know there was a plague people were talking about last year. so this year i have heard a few people talking about resistant strains of crickets. id assume the blacks are one of those strains.

How does the thickness of the exoskeleton compare to the gray crickets. The grey's appeared to have very thin ones and was wondering if the blacks were similar. Thanks,

Kelly

Kelly,

They seem a bit thicker than the grays but not as thick as your typical backyard black cricket.
