Anyone know which is safer to use, Spar urethane or Polyureyhane? I also noticed a product call Polycrylic from minwax that is water based and sounds good.

I used the Minwax Polycrylic on my first sets of cages and have since discovered that being water based is it's actual downfall. It breaks down after repeated cleanings. I Have built a few new ones using their Polyurethnae and it stands up much better. I have also started experimenting with some bar top epoxy, which is a bit more expensive depending on how much area you're covering, but is rock solid once it sets up. I have some pics available if you are interested, send me a message.
