Fresh shed and exploring outside

natsamjosh Jun 25, 2011 03:53 PM

One of the best parts (at least for me) of owning an indigo is going outside with him and observing his behavior. He always seems to be on the hunt. While I doubt most captive bred snakes would stand a chance if released/escaped into the wild, I firmly believe an indigo could easily survive.

Here are a few pics...

A mockingbird took some interest in Jack. He was checking him out from the roof of the next door neighbor's house, and eventually flew down to get a closer look. The bird knew to keep enough distance. You can see the bird in the image, he's about in the center of the picture below.

I agree, most folks think their snake can be happy in their enclosure all their life, plus letting them adventure in the sunlight and open air helps us understand what interests them, and if done on a routine basis the snake will restrict itself to the same area every time, mine can be left alone outside for 20 minutes and hardly move ten feet, seems they have no desire to escape, I do this with Pines, Ratsnakes, Cribos...
