Rufescen Cross Question

dradsliff Jul 04, 2011 02:11 PM

I bred a pure rufescen to one of my other kenyans(no rufescen blood). I just had 22 babies today and they are all striped. I was expecting some normals and tigers. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Here's a picture of the babies. The father is pure rufescen and the mom is a paradox albino het snow.

Congrats on the babies.
a croos with ruf X Normal
will give strips
And yours strips are now het albino poss snow.
'But if you cross a stripe with a normal you will get 50% Strips and 50% Tigerish "Normal looking animals"

A pure to a normal can give tigers/normals as well. I would say that you lucked out and got all stripes!

Great looking litter.

Correct me if I'm wrong....but since "rufescens" morph animals are just hypermelanistic sandboas and albinos don't produce melanin, won't you just get a rufescens with some white splotching?

I don't think so, because I've seen albino striped rufescens. So, I would think an albino paradox one would look the same as it, but with the black markings of the paradox.

I would expect the resulting litter to include albino paradox stripes.
