We went to Sanderson, River Road, and the Chinati Mountains. Not a single snake in Sanderson. Nothing on River Road. Hiked a few molossuss and a suboc in the Chinati Mountains, all of which were very skinny. Not much is moving, due to the lack of rain.
I did hear of an alterna that was recently caught in the Langtry area.

We were out for 3 nights in May and observed 12 snakes, 8 which were DOR's.

AOR-suboc
AOR-Lepidus
blotched water swimming up the Pecos
2 DOR- Atrox

1 DOR- Alterna
1 DOR- Bairds rat
1 DOR- Checkered Garter
1 DOR- Blackneck Garter
Worst outing in the 7 years I've gone out West but we were still happy to be out there.

Just got back from 7 nights out west.
Not a snake the first two nights. Next five nights
3 subocs
2 atrox
3 hyps
2 blacktail
2 emory rat
We were out from sunset to sunrise. Worked very hard and saw very little. Did see three cool things on road cuts. A mountain lion, a tiger salamander and a painted bunting.
That's pretty cool that you saw a mountain lion. What area did you see him at?
Musquiz Canyon. I have actually seen several in that area.

Man I think late August is when I am gonna give it a try. Maybe by then the temps will be a little cooler and something will be moving
