3 Thayeri out Finally......

Jlassiter Jul 16, 2011 12:36 AM

I was expecting them to hatch on Day 60 but these guys waited until 63 days.....so it wasn't too bad of a wait......LOL

Still two in their eggs as well......

These are the result of a Het Melanistic Male Intermediate X my Rose Leonis with an almost solid black ventral....I was just trying to see if she had the melanistic trait, but they produced some classic leonis babies with nice lateral alternates......so far........

Here are some pre shed pics......The first one is a nice yellowish/orange.....the second is bright, clean gray......The third is a buckskin with some pinned saddles......all have pretty high saddles counts....
I'll post some post shed pics when they decide to shed......

I don't know if it is possible.........but it seems that some from melanistic lineage express more melanin than the average thayeri.......

Very nice John! Good luck with that project.

My eggs usually go past the 60 day mark as well, but my first clutch this year actually started hatching a few days early!
