Knight Anoles Gotta Love them.

dadeherper Jul 18, 2011 06:26 PM

I recently go a female Knight Anole got her a at Reptile Show for $10.00! Sshe was a little skinny; but the guy I got her off of assured me she was tame which is true.He informed me she layed 2 eggs a couple of weeks before the show. I have kept these in the past and I must say they are amazing animals I am looking to pair up in the near future or possibly a trio. Chuck H. if you have any input on this let me know. Can you house male and females together or is there too much aggression between the two let me know. I have plenty of books on anoles but they just briefly talk about Anoles.
Thanks for any input,Adam B.

Hi Adam! I've kept several long term pairs and trios together over the years. One male and female will get along fine, but you should have a spacious enclosure so she can remove herself from the possibility of over aggressive courtship should it happen during breeding season (generally in the Spring and early Summer). When keeping multiple females, keep an eye on them as well since they can be aggressive with one another from time to time.

Thanks Chuck H. My Female has laid several eggs since I got her I keep the Male & female separated except for breeding purposes I was keeping them together but there was much aggression between the two. Mainly food wise Both are very tame Also I looking to sell and possibly expand my breeding projects with anoles in the future Right know I am working on Raising My Blue Darts up to Adulthood and selling the froglets down the Road at a local Show. Also I would like to see the Anole forum get more response down the road so if any one here is New and has questions please post! There is plenty of people who would enjoy hearing from you experiences ect.
