Bitis parviocula

vvp77k Jul 29, 2011 08:54 PM

Hi I currently keep several Bitis species but have never come across Bitis parviocula. Does anyone know the status of this species in the U.S. ? I've always thought they where second only to certain rhino viper locales, when it came to bitis species the bright yellow Bitis parviocula are gorgeous. Any Information would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read my post!

Sincerely,
vvp77k

I have only ever seen one for sale in the U.S, but they do occasionally come in from Europe. The one that I remember seeing was for sale with a very high end collection (think Fierce Snakes, Fea's Vipers, etc.). This animal was priced at (I think) 3,000 USD. You may be able to find the advertisement on the Southeastern Hot Herp Society website. I saw the ad about 2-3 years ago (approximately). I haven't seen any available to the public since.
