Looking for picture of girl with Indigo

aspidelapsone Aug 09, 2011 03:09 PM

Does anyone have or know of anyone who has the picture of Bill Haast's little daughter with a large Eastern Indigo?

This photo was featured in a small paperback publication in the
1960s or very early 1970s. The publication had a drawing of a hooded yellow and black cobra on the cover. I don't recall the
name of the publication. I used to own a copy but lost it somehow over the years.

Would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Danny

I'll look around. I've held that snake many times.

Was it " Cobras in his Garden " ??

Surprisingly expensive at the moment. This is a link to a used book site.

Enter "cobras in his garden" in the title box and hit search. The author is Harry Kursh.

Thanks a lot guys but this is not the publication. The small
paperback is more like pamphlet, a little smaller than a comic
book and pretty thin; probably less than 40 pages.

The little girl has a very large indigo draped around her and over her shoulders and is holding the snake behind the head or
around it's neck. She is photographed from her side (profile),
while holding the snake's head up level with her own head and
smiling, while staring eye to eye.

Thanks,
Danny

Probably not the same girl, but it might be the same snake in my Blast from the Past thread, on the second page.

Thanks Lloyd, but not the same girl. The girl to which I am referring is a small child, maybe six to eight years old, and
is in fact Bill Haast's daughter.

Contact Ray Hunter at Hunter Serpentology. He was a life long friend and worked with him for a long time. Hope this helps.

Shown in a 1957 paperback, "Snakes", written by Mervin Roberts.
Let me know and I'll send you a glossy of the same.
All the best-
