more recent hatchlings

Some of these were very large for hatchlings-14 grams. These babies resemble the parents more than the last ones I posted...don't you think? The middle pic is the mother and the last pic is the father. Thanks for looking. Stu

Very nice Stu. They look much more like the parents. Are the parents WC?

I'd guess captive born from the same clutch. They look hand picked and very similar.

What type locality are those Stu?

StuTennyson Aug 14, 2011 07:50 PM

w/c off the same cut north of Sanderson the same year. Both were walked about 15 feet apart and 2 months apart. They could very well be related. The female was found on the worst night I've ever found an alterna. It was 65 F and drizzling. I wasn't going to even hunt but it was my first night and I just drove 450 miles so I figured what the heck....paid off because she turned out to be a perfect match for the male I found 2 months before. The pics are the insitu's. Thanks for looking. Stu

Thats awesome Stu. I found my first alterna under similar conditions. We had even contemplated driving straight through Del Rio and heading home.

Beautiful pair. Congrats on the breeding success. The pattern similarity and nuchal blotches sure fooled me into thinking they were captive siblings. That's awesome.

I caught a pair at a diiferent location but the same cut that look even more alike...they were even the same size, sub-adult... I also caught them the same year about a month apart and within a few feet of the exact same spot on the cut....
