Crickets from Bait shops

Tortuslvr Aug 16, 2011 04:49 PM

Are the crickets from Bait shops safe to feed your bearded Dragons? If you buy them from a bait shop in larger quantity and gut load them are they safe to feed to an adult beardie?

yes they are fine if you gut load them first. ive used them when the local pet store was out. problem is they chirp unlike the pet store ones. also dont use them for smaller beardies as the ones available to me are a different species and have the harder exoskeleton.
good luck

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

i personally have never had a problem with bait shop crickets. although i keep from frrding them for at least 5 days after i get them.i gotta seriosly gut load them first.i use oranges, vegi scraps and fish food to seriously stuff em! bait atores and feed stores have been my best friends for crickets!
