KABU * White Backed Aquaflame yearling

Eve Aug 24, 2011 12:54 AM

Some of you probably remember last season I hatched out an aquaflame baby boy that had a unique white pattern on his back. Well as he grew he became more blue but kept his white patterned back.

He is now a year old and has become a daddy none of his offspring have this pattern , or white colored back. It's quite odd looking for an aquaflame, I have never seen this before, and whats crazy is when he really heats up the white gets a turquoise blue but you see the pattern through it. Then as he cools the white is there. :0) His head is slowly truning yellowy orangey in person, and he is getting some yellowy hues in the white back, so not sure how he will turn out as the years go by, lol.

He's a very handsome guy! I hope he keeps his white - I like the unique ones.

I've got some very good medicine at home...it'd be much safer to ship Kabu to my place for some treatment. Of course there are no guarantees he would be able to make the trip home. It could be a long healing process and I'm sure you'd rather not see him suffer any longer.

Great looking lizard...probably the coolest flame I've seen produced that kept a trait like that. I hope you can see that white in some more offspring. I'd cross him back to the mother or to some of his sibs.

Great looking lizard.

Hhehehee, yeah he's definietly different. Sweet big boy too ! He was just a daddy and all of the youngsters are regularly colored. But like you mentioned, I was talking to Will today and he said since Kabu just became a dddy to breed one of his offsprign females back to him and see what her kids will look like.

I still so you pack him up and send him over...its obviously a nasty defect and you should remove him from the gene pool.

Or, you should just send him to me...you obviously have no experience breeding collareds (ha, ha). Just kidding.

You've done very well.

PS...Mikaela has her firt two leo eggs incubating, and we just hatched out 15 littel snapping turtles.
