So far, so blue...

An update on my little blue phase greens...

Well, I was hoping to do DNA gendertesting yesterday, but realized I am not going to get enough blood from a toenail on such tiny little igs ... so, I won't have gender to help me decide who to keep. Tazumal is now 4 inches SVL and 15 inches STL, while poor little Glaurung doesn't seem to have grown much at all. I'm suspecting dominance issues so they are now separated.

I am thinking that if I end up keeping Glaurung I will have to change his name. My family cannot seem to be able to pronounce it. My husband calls him Gallwrong and it makes me crazy. Since he doesn't know his name yet, I guess it will be okay to change it and I am up for suggestions. I like Chrysophylax but if my husband messed up Glaurung, what will he do to Chrysophylax?

I'm attaching two pics. The one with the orange wall in the background is Glaurung and the one with the sliding glass door background is Tazumal. I can't wait until Taz finishes shedding because when he sheds that dewlap it is amazing. Tazumal has more overall blue, or at least I thought so. Glaurung started to shed today and he has quite a bit of blue (or rather turquoise) under the dull greenish shed....

Here is one more of Glaurung. He's still really skinny but now that they are separated perhaps he'll finally start to put on some weight and grow. However, now that he is shedding, he may turn out to be the more blue of the two.
