I was out walking on the bike path that runs along a natural area here in Vancouver, WA and found this beautiful red-sided garter snake. He was about 30 inches long. He musked me good when I grabbed him. I got some pics then let him go.

Yes they are very pretty, and I see quite a few. Wish they were not so musky!
