Peace River Herps - ruthveni

ncstateherps Sep 09, 2011 11:39 AM

I just acquired 1.1 adult ruthveni that were produced by the guys @ Peace River Herps (Rob Nimmo, Robert Cox) back in 2008 and sold at the Daytona show. It looks as if their site is no longer valid and I can't dig up any info regarding these snakes.

Anyone have some insight as to where this line originated or if these are just generic? Any information would be very helpful.

Typically most of the ruthveni you see in the hobby are Amealcos. And the amels started with the Amealcos. I am pretty sure Robert Cox and Alex Estabrooks ruthveni are Amealcos. Rob Nimmo was not part of Peace River when they got their ruthies.
I did see them a few weeks ago in Daytona.....
Hope this helps

Poor planning and procrastination on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Looking at some of your adult breeders on the website, I feel good about calling my adults (which are het albino) Amealco locality. I am waiting on some contact info so I can verify this.

I got a pair from them back in 2002. The male has since passed.
They are definately Amealo and het for amel. I got a het Amealco male from Bob Applegate a couple of years back. Bred them successfully for the first time this year. Got a clutch of 6 and 2 are amel.

I have a female from them from 2002. She is of Amealco stock and is het for amel. I paired her up with an Amealco amel from Bob Applegate this year, and out of a clutch of 6, I produced 2 amels.
