10-12" in length. Centipede of some sort...any idea of species? Found it out a day or so back.

We wouldn't have 6 and a half billion people if you had to be beautiful to get laid.

Looks like Scolopendra heros. They're pretty common here in central Texas - found one in my garage a few years ago. I've seen them close to a foot long in south Texas. Nasty little buggars - got a helluva bite/sting on them and they're fairly aggressive.
Scolopendra heros castaneiceps - Red-headed Centipede.
Beautiful animals, although I wouldn't want to find one in my sleeping bag. Their bite is excruciating from the first hand reports I have heard.

I hope I never have to find out the truth about their bite!
Looks like the tropical ones with the really serious bite/sting.
