Can you tell me more about the water to fan relationship you bring up in
Robert K's post. I have never heard of that before and would like to know more.
Is it the metals in the water that you use distilled and how does the fan and or added ventilation relate to the water. Do you think the metals cause the ear problem?
Please dont take this as anything more than I really am curious and want to learn
thx

No way i have heavy metal problems with my Rhino. I use distilled water with him and alsways have . we have spring water not well , BUT it is still hard water so i don't use it . As far as humidity , its a balance trying keeping it above 60% and not get mold in your home . I am not sure that my Rhinos problem didn't start because i was keeping it too high and MAY have had mold issue . never saw any though and tried NOT TOO . I WAS using indoor carpet but added linoleum a month ago and a fan . So who knows .

I'm not sure there is a water to fan ratio. I am on well water and that combined with 35 year old galvanized water pipes makes for some rusty water out at the garage. I had a couple rhinos that were doing the same thing as Robert's. Two of them went to Florida and never showed any signs of it again. I have a sub adult rhino and one of my hatchling's I held back do the same thing. It seems to show up whenever I use the outside water facet and don't let it run for 10-15 minutes before. Thus I have a feeling it was due to the metals in the water from the pipes and maybe the well water. The fan is just for air circulation, just to keep the air circulating as I keep humidity around 70%. What's weird is I have 3 yearling rhinos housed together and only the one was showing signs. I have a gut feeling my problem was due to the water. Fan help?? but it is a good thing with the higher humidity's. I think I have rambled and lost my train of thought. Let me know if you have any other questions

thanks. did you ever have blood work done to look for higher metals or anything out of ordinary?
I wonder, if it is the water quality, why it would show up in the ear. No other symptoms that you noticed?

Never had blood work done. I don't think it's an ear issue, rather a sinus issue. Since they expel salt through the sinus I was thinking that any heavy metals would be expelled the same way??? Just a thought. Since mine stopped after not using my well water and with high humidity/fan I haven't given it much thought. Until Robert's post and seeing his video brought back memories.
