I fed my ribbons earlier today, and tonight I found a fresh fish stuck to a partially digested one on one of the plants in my viv. I did note that one of the fish still in the water dish had a bite mark on its tail but is still swimming around. Is it possible that they just got overzealous and literally bit off more than they could chew? I'm really concerned. I'm not sure which of my two ribbons did it, and I don't know what to do from here!

Not to worry, I have had more than a few garter snakes throw up with no ill effects.

Ribbons do tend to get a little crazy when eating, so your theory is sound, one of them probably over did it.

They both ate with no ill effects tonight. I'll keep an eye on them and see what happens. The male, who is smaller, ate way more than his fair share. If that's what's going on, then maybe I'll have to separate them for feedings. Bleh.

I always separate for feeding time, seen too many food fights.

Have had one completely swallow it's cage mate once, she wanted his food so bad she ate him with it.

Do you just put one in a tub with its own fish bowl? Covered or uncovered? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I've always fed all my snakes in their enclosures.
