the past few nights once i turn out the lights for the night my gtp has been just hanging out in his water bowl. ive had him over a month now and im thinking he should be due for a shed. is this normal or is he trying to tell me to raise the humidity a little.

I have read that some just like soaking although mine never have. I have also read where this behavior can be indicative of mite infestation and since it is a new acquisition I would check the water bowl closely and see if you have any critters floating in it.

What are you using for substrate? I suggest using newspaper for now just while it is in quarantine. It allows for much better observation than stuff like mulch, which will make seeing mites far more difficult.
