This is my first year with multiple Kenyan litters, so please defer to those with more experience. Since no one else has put their 2 cents in yet, I will. Placing the neonates in a deli cup with a moistened paper towel certainly seems to make for a quick and easy first shed. I place the cup about 1/3 over the heat tape on one of my racks to keep them warm, and the usually shed in a few days.
One other tip that may come in handy some day. In a couple litters I've had a number of babies that just didn't want to eat no matter what I tried. I ended up losing a few. I tried "cupping" them as many suggest (placing them in a bare-bottomed deli cup with a pinky overnight), but I still had little success. I accidentally discovered later that by placing some substrate (I use sani-chips, others prefer sand) in the deli cup and allowing them to bury themselves improved my success rate considerably with these stubborn feeders. I guess they just need to let their "ambush" instinct work for them to stimulate their appetites.
Thank you for your imput, much appreciated.

congratulations!! keep them all in one shoebox on a little aspen covered with damp paper towel and a small waterbowl. once they have all shed you can separate them and start offering food. thanks, scott erycine1@aol.com
Thanks Scott,
I am expecting another 4 if not 5 females to produce so I am going to be very busy.
I was going to use Cricket tubs as enclosures, however they are not big enough for a water bowl. If I used this method and offered water a couple of times per week, would this be ok?
Regards John
welcome john. im not sure how big a cricket tub is. misting them a little two or three times a week would work, as long as the substrate doesnt stay damp after they shed. at the dollar tree stores they sell 10 packs of very small tupperware type containers that work great as water bowls in small tubs. get the round ones so they are more difficult to tip over. you dont even need the lids. thanks, scott erycine1@aol.com
Hi Scott,
Thanks for that, I am over in the UK and have just bought 100 take away boxes plus small deli cups for each. I anticipate that I have 5 more females nearly ready to give birth also. I have not looked at the 66% anerys yet but the anerys are 1.3, I could`nt be happier. Right now, I am concentrating on getting them sloughed off and then commence feeding trials.
Regards
John
