Might have been worth it..
.
This one snake is the Holy Grail among herpers at the southernmost point in Texas.. For whatever reason in the last maybe twenty years these have become very scarce here.. This one let me photograph it at about 8:30AM on a warm humid morning after some (locally) strong rain.. It lacked only about 150 yards of being a 'Mexican' Mexican milk-snake.
.

.
This Drymarchon was sure he was a real dragon ruler of the world!.. He was a studly six-foot-plus Indigo..
.

.

.
.. here's an adult female Drymobius.. always a pleasure to see these.
.

.
.. what the hey? .. more of that milk!
.

.
Have a super day! (I did).

Certainly looks as if you had a super day... missed your posts of Speckled Racers over the last few months... such a handsome beastie!

Thanks for taking the time to post those three little gems!

Awesome finds!!,.......all of them!

I would be afraid of getting whacked by drug cartlels in the area, but finding nice stuff like that might be worth the risk now and then..LOL!
