Has anyone ever seen atrox like these? I believe they are melanistic caramel albinos. I got a pair of these from a friend and can't wait to see how they grow up.

Looking for any kind of backstory on these guys. Thanks.

there are a couple guys producing those.. there is a guy up north that has been producing them since the early 2000's.. he would only sell his entire clutches, so not many people knew about them..M. Jolliff bought a whole clutch back in 04' or 05' for $10,000... now Shane Mader is producing them and coming up with his own names for them rather than calling them what they are, melanistic caramel albinos or melanistic albinos...believe he is calling melanistic albinos xanthics.. don't think he gets the concept of melanistic and albino in one animal...
Shane has the right to call the animals he produces what ever he chooses..
i also believe a lot of the atrox called melanistics may actually be hypermelanistics.. as some do not appear solid black, as most true melanistics do..but they may darken with age to solid black???
not bashing this project, as i think they are beautiful combos...

what whould be the breeding combo for this???
I am with ya, I think the hypermelanistic is probably the most accurate. As far as the xanthics that is a hard one as well, I made the mistake of calling them snow and I will not make that mistake again. I did not use the anery gene so they are not snow and the main color that shows on the albino hypermelanistics is yellow. Not sure what to call them but I love them and hope to add some other genes to the mix. Can't wait to see how these purple guys grow up.
Dan
That guy was tupid for selling them! I bet he is kicking himself for doing so, LOL! If I didn't need the money, I wouldn't have. Glad they went to you Dan. I wouldn't of sold them to just anyone. These originally came from Tim Cole line. Second generation back from a pair purchased by a friend, that was later sold to me, a het & an amel. They produced five different color morphs. The parents of these were siblings, male is melenistic & the female was carmel when young, but looks more golden now, technically carmel though. Keep me updated on their status please. I am just thankful that I could be a part of the breeding
Jerry
Thanks again Jerry you know you have access to this line when you need it down the line. I can't wait to see how these change as they grow.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to pics!
