Terrarium Waterfall materials question

CrocChick Oct 17, 2011 08:18 PM

Hello! New to the forum and to Herps to be honest. The man of the house is really into them and I've been drooling over Croc Skinks since first stumbling across them.

Well....to get to the point...I'm now working on building a waterfall for my Terrarium and have some things together but just wanted to verify safety first just to make sure.

Here's what I have: 20 Gallon long. I'm looking to do possibly 1/3 of it or slightly more as water. I have a submersible pump The Reptiflo 200 (45 GPH). I'm looking to obviously have the pump inside or behind the fall...concealed. The materials I have for the Waterfall itself are as follows: Great stuff, Matte Clear Acrylic Sealer brand is either Plaid or Patricia Nimocks. (Bought at Craft store...picked out by the man of the house), and Krylon Make It Stone! spray.

The two materials I'm a bit concerned about are the Krylon stuff and the acrylic spray. Does anyone have experience with these brands?

ALSO, for those of you that don't know, another important factor is that Croc Skinks require 80% humidity but cooler temps. The hot end is at about 84F. So whatever I use has to put up with that.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
