Different routes to the same hybrid...

...and more.

Below somebody posted a Sinacorn x Jungle Corn. Somebody pointed out that this cross = 50% corn, 25% sinaloan, 25% cal king. Now this cross has no name but lets just say they were called Bundle Corns.

That got me thinking you could achive this cross either by breeding a 50% corn, 50% Cal to a 50% corn, 50% sinaloan...
or you could get it by breeding a pure corn to a 50% Cal, 50% Sinaloan. Either way you would end up with the same mix and same % of each.

Taking it further what if you bred a Pure Cal to a Sinacorn? You would get the same mix of species but in different %'s. Would they still be called Bundle Corns?

Again Bundle Corns is just a made up name, for example's sake. My basic question is, is it acceptable to use different routes to achieve the same mix?

And is it still considered the same cross if they have different % of each type in the mix? For example:
Jungle Corn x Pure Corn = 75% Corn, 25% Cal.
Jungle Corn x Pure Cal = 25% Corn, 75% Cal.
Are these all just considered Jungle Corns or are there different names for each?

I also have some questions about Pastel Kings(aka amel Thayer's crosses) but I will make another post.

Theoretically, a pure cal king to a pure corn would produce 50/50 percent offspring. However, there is probably going to be much variability in the phenotypes produced. Some looking more corn like, some more cal king like. However, they are all Jungle Corns. I would assume if the same percentage is there (ie, a Bundle corn is 50% cal, 25% corn, 25% sinaloan), then how you achieve that mix, and what the offspring look like really wouldnt matter. Not all Bundle Corns will look alike, even in the same clutch.
