black blood color change

squidlyjoe Oct 18, 2011 03:07 PM

Hello, I'm really considering getting a pair of black bloods and was just curious if they get darker with age? Ive seen some babies with tan or cream colored heads and didnt know if that is replaced by black pigment with age.
Thanks
Bob

Bob, Python Curtus or Sumatran black short tails do change/ darken with age. Spcimens with the cream, tan, beige heads are not LIKELY to turn black..They will be dark, but likely dark browns..Some call these chrome heads which is really INCORRECT, Chrome heads are silver / gray and CAN change to black at times..The blackest / darkest of specimens will start with a black / dark / chrome head..The darkest baby will likely be the darkest adult..
