Anybody work w/ amel River Rd. subocs?

Aaron Nov 10, 2011 05:44 PM

Is anybody working with amel River Road Trans-Pecos Rats?

How many lines are still out there and what ones are being bred?

I know there was the one caught by Dave Long that the Barkers aquired and were working with. I think that line is still in existence but I don't think the Barkers are still working with it.

Then there was an amel RR that Tim Egan caught but I think that snake died without ever producing.

Then there was an amel RR caught by Don Long(no relation to Dave Long) and I don't know what ever happened with that one. Is it still alive? Have any babies been produced?

Are there any other lines I am missing?

Aaron, you may have already tried this place, but I would bet a dollar to a donut you could find out from the many sources here.

good luck!

Besides the ones you mentioned, Lee Frasier was the other RR animal found.

I believe only the Dave Long line is established in captivity, and I don’t believe any of the other wild-caughts are still alive or accounted for(?)

I have a few from Dave’s line. They’re a very pretty bright but soft orange as adults. Some are very yellow.

The top photo was by Troy Hibbitts. Bottom photo is of a Loma Alta (left) and RR Albino (right) in my collection. You can see the difference between the two.

Outstanding. You didn't sell off everything in your collecition two years ago. Hope they breed for you in 2012. mike

Yeah, you bet, Aaron. Do you still have the Black Gaps (Mercury)?
