Seems like a lot of folks produced orange thayeri this season. Wondering if that was on purpose or if orange tends to be a dominant color? By that I mean if you bred an orange male with a green female, you'd get more orange hatchlings than not.

Hi,
from my expirience i can tell you that breeding a green leonis-phase male to a orange leonis-phase female will mostly produce yellowish offspring, some orange and true green is rare, only 1 of 14 shows green from this season`s clutch.

Orange thayeri are the result of line breeding with no introduction of new bloodlines nor any outcrossing.
Orange thayeri were sought after over the past decade, but I think there has been a turn towards earth tones over the past few years.......
Personally I enjoy earth tones over oranges and yellows, but I still enjoy a brightly colored line bred thayeri too.......

Poor planning and procrastination on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

I've got one. I bought it from Denmark last year and thought it would be a nice mate for my yellow female.

Hi peter54!
Very nice thayeri, i like the small bandings.
Can you post a pic of your yellow female?
And where are you living?
Greetings from germany,
Michael
Hi and thanks. The danish guy I bought the orange male from is probably not the breeder, so I'm really not sure from where it originates. Maybe it's from Germany.
The female however, is a swedish bred, here she is:

I like him!
