Bubblegum rat??????

BigHairy8s Nov 14, 2011 06:40 PM

Hey all. Can anyone tell me what a bubblegum rat snake is exactly? I just was given one. Its all pink with no obvious markings. Is it a corn morph or something else? I'm not sharp on all the rat snake morphs. Thanks in advance! Rich

Bubblegum ratsnakes are a man-made albino combination of three ratsnakes,.....the Black Ratsnake, Yellow Ratsnake, and the Everglades Ratsnake. The albino(amelanistic) gene of their equation was added in the mix from the albino Black ratsnake. They were originated by Bill Love way back around 1990.

They can vary quite a bit too, and can range from a solid pale pink, orange-ish red, to bright contrasting orange and pink with a very vivid blotched pattern, and anything in between.

There's also line bred snow corn that's called a bubblegum or neon that's mostly pink. If you can show a picture that would help in identifying the snake.
