RE: Tumor in mouth of argentine boa

wwoodruff Nov 16, 2011 06:20 PM

My argentine boa (14 years old) has a tumor on its upper gum. The vet has taken a sample to check for cancer. If it is, it will require surgery. My question is - what are the chances of survival of cancer and should I do it with a snake this old. It will be a very expensive procedure. I welcome all responses, even those that think I am wrong for even considering the cost.

If you have the resources and the desire to reasonably save the animal and it survive to have a good quality of life, go for it. However, if I faced that situation, I would have to put the animal down
