Beaded's regurgitating

monkeyb00gers Nov 21, 2011 02:11 PM

My beaded's have regurgitated a 2 times in the last 2 feedings . I fed them small frozen thawed mice the 1st time & cut up chicken breast the 2nd . I keep their cage dry & clean . Their temp is 95 degrees hot & around 80 degrees cool . I have no clue as to what is going on . I have an argus monitor that eats the same products & he is VERY health with no probs . Thank you for any help .

You should lower your temps by at least 5 degrees. Feed less. Skip the chicken. If you want to feed birds, get small quail.

Good luck, Kyle

look down a few posts

What is it I am looking for?

kylemillsap Nov 23, 2011 11:35 AM

If you are referring to your solution , I would suggest that lowering temps is a better way to get rid of regurgitation. Your approach, although it may alleviate symptoms, does not deal with the cause, high temps and overfeeding.

hmmmn to each his own...........thought I mentioned temps no higher than mid eighties somewhere?.... maybe not?
But anyhow sorry to disappoint ya but um I wasn't even directig the post towards you.....lol thought the other guy had the question? Can I help you with anything bro? lol

That solution I posted works excellent for any heloderm having regurg issues without a parasite problem I suggest you read it more careful....its excellent

Look at my beautiful baby gilas bro! Life is good at DeLap's Jurrasic Pets.

I AM THE LIZARD KING

I'm sure your method works. I have bred beadeds for the past 8 years and have produced hundreds of animals . I have only had 2 regurges. I believe with proper husbandry Heloderms will almost never regurgitate. If one's Heloderm has parasites, there may be a husbandry issue.
Good luck "Lizard King".

I have been looking close here lately & I believe that only one has
regurgitated . I keep all 3 in a 150 gallon tank . They do not fight , but they do lay around like dogs on each other . So , if one had a parasite prob then all three would as well . Also , they were all purchased from the same dealer . Thanks for the replies although some didn't make sense .

Lower the temp, offer a small pool to soak in, make sure it can hide (reduce stress). You can afford to feed them small meals, and they can go a while until the next offering because there digestive systems are SLOOOOOWWWW (much unlike the super-on-crack Argus flavor of lizards).

So, I am guessing the (30%) possible chance the chicken has salmonella, the lizard is holding onto the bad [bleep] faster then the digestive and immune systems can fight off.

Hope this is A LITTLE help.
